ABOUT ME
Independent, Client-Side China Advisory
Hi, I’m Eric.
I work as an independent advisor focused on helping foreign companies navigate China-related decisions with clarity and confidence.
My role is not to sell services, products, or optimism.
It is to help clients understand what is actually happening, identify risks early, and make decisions based on practical realities rather than assumptions.
My Perspective
China-related work is rarely difficult because of a lack of effort or intent.
It is difficult because information is often incomplete, incentives are misaligned, and communication can lose meaning across language and cultural boundaries.
Over time, I’ve learned that the most valuable support is not providing more information, but helping decision-makers interpret what they are seeing and hearing — and understand what truly matters.
That perspective shapes how I work with clients.
How I Work
I approach each engagement with a client-side mindset.
I am not tied to suppliers, intermediaries, or commissions.
I do not represent third parties.
My responsibility is to the client alone.
All engagements are personally led by me. When additional support is needed, I collaborate selectively with trusted specialists, ensuring that judgment, accountability, and continuity remain clear at all times.
What Clients Value
Clients often work with me because they value:
Clear, independent judgment in complex situations
Calm, structured thinking when uncertainty is high
Honest assessment of risks and trade-offs
Consistent involvement over time, rather than one-off advice
These qualities are especially important when decisions carry long-term consequences.

Why This Practice Exists
Many companies approach China with either excessive caution or excessive confidence.
Both can lead to costly mistakes.
This practice exists to provide a balanced, grounded perspective — one that helps clients move forward thoughtfully, with eyes open and expectations aligned with reality.
A Note on Engagements
I work on a monthly retainer basis so that support can evolve as situations change.
Engagements are intentionally flexible and built around continuity, not rigid deliverables.
Clients retain me for judgment, context, and ongoing involvement — not for predefined outputs.
Closing
If you are evaluating or managing China-related decisions and are looking for clear, independent support, I’d be glad to learn more about your situation.
